Billiani’s Salone Del Mobile 2018 Collection

Coherent, clean, challenging, sometimes irreverent but always exciting — every new entry that joins the our collection becomes an opportunity to test ourselves, to test our technical know-how and consolidate the roots of our way of doing design, to come up with objects of integrity and value.

In a very strong relationship between craftsmanship and industrial perfection, we have developed as many as six brand new collections as well as some interesting additional versions that go to complete already established families.

This passion has an increasing hold over us, that of bringing new life to our assortment, that continuous, incessant process that intensifies with an important upcoming appointment.

Here are Billiani’s 2018 new products:

DRUM | The Drum collection is faithful to its wood, and is characterized by the particular flaring of the seat, thick but tapered, a detail that is also found in the Drum table top. Drum is already a complete collection, with chair, lounge chair, stools at three heights and variously sized tables. The curved plywood backrest is gently supported by the back leg which gradually narrows to attach the backrest.

Marimba | The concept of the new Drum series continues in Marimba, but with an appreciable change in the register of the project through the use of leather, which is the key element of this collection, boldly transforming the look, with its own clear character. Wood and leather marry up in an unexpected way, in happy accord, resulting from the harmony between stability and agility. This Marimba collection, made of stained or lacquered solid beech combined with leather, includes: chair, lounge chair, low stool, high stool, high stool with back. It perfectly matches the Drum table collection.

Layer | What inevitably makes Layer stand out is the splay in its legs. The resolute profile stems from the perfect embrace between the two components: wood and upholstery. In a single flow, the frame incorporates the plywood armrest which in turn extends to join the back padding. Continuity and linearity between design and material make Layer quite unmistakable. In stained or lacquered ashwood, available only with upholstery.

My Chair | You can’t help but notice those characteristic sprouting “ears”! My Chair winks with bold irreverence while the turned legs from the rounded base transmit a feeling of softness and delicateness. The aesthetic detail of the visible pin does not escape even the less expert eye. The original version is completely in ash wood, adding comfort in the variants with upholstered seat, or with upholstered seat as well as back.

White | If White were a model it would be Anita Ekberg, being just as seductive and slinky as the Swedish actress of the swinging sixties. By virtue of its generous forms, it follows the path traced by the Green and Blue chairs already present in the Billiani collection and it is inspired by the Nordic design of the Sixties.

Lilliput | Lilliputs are rather  low coffee tables, made of solid or lacquered ashwood, with two contrasting natural wood knobs that wink at you cheekily. One’s gaze inevitably falls on this visual feature of only marginal appearance, which nonetheless embellishes and highlights a key component of the project. These knobs allow Lilliput to be flat-packed for swift and environmentally friendly transport.
